Zoos, Museums, and Aquariums are our jam. We love a chance to sink our teeth into a new learning experience. The Aquarium of the Pacific was the perfect opportunity to find our groove on a rainy Los Angeles day.
Yes, you read that previous sentence correctly. It rained in Los Angeles… hard rain. According to a local, it had been 252 days since their last rain. I guess we brought the unusual weather with us. So we skipped Disneyland and headed to the Aquarium of the Pacific.
The first thing you notice inside is the whale suspended from the ceiling with her calf. This incredible life size beauty is breath taking.
Aquarium Residents
This aquarium was a fantastic little nugget. It was a wonderful stop on our West Coast journey. We loved the Seahorses and the Jelly fish. I have to say Jelly Fish (behind glass and out of stinging range) are absolutely beautiful. They had so many variety of each species.
And my son found his spirit animal. This Sea turtle was so interested in the kids and would follow them around from the other side of the tank. So cool.
We made it in time to watch the Seal and Sea Lion show. A couple of lucky kids got the chance to participate in the training session and its always cool to watch these amazing animals interacting with the staff.
And there were tons of hands on petting areas. From sharks, horseshoe crabs, rays, and even star fish and anemone. Aren’t these star fish beautiful.
The Frog exhibit was also amazing. Check out this poisonous Blue Dart Frog.
We had a fantastic time at the Aquarium of the Pacific. The gift shop was amazing. Whoever chooses their stock does an incredible job. Both the kids were able to find something they couldn’t live without. Check out this awesome gift shop.
And check out these cool Kitchen accessories.
I am so thankful we could carve out some time to go there.

Thank you! It was a fantastic Aquarium.
These are amazing photos – you have some skill, girl. Crazy how that weather hit right when you got there but looks like it worked out okay ? Great post + review!
Thank You! We definitely got the opportunity for learning to dance in the rain. But California is beautiful and worth a little drizzle!
Great recap and so fun to ‘meet’ a fellow roadschooler/homeschooler! I’ve toyed with the idea of RV-ing (since camping sounds like torture LOL), but have never looked into the costs, etc. I’m betting it’s a lot of fun for the kids! Hope to keep in touch if only on our blogs 🙂 xo -kristiina
We LOVE our RV. Such a relaxed way to travel with kids. I signed up for your mailing list so we should be able to keep in touch!
