Have you ever been in a situation where you have had to wait around for something and your kids suddenly turn into monkeys and you a jungle gym…? See I knew it wasn’t just me. Give my kids two minutes of free time and one will be swinging from my arm and the other sitting on my head.
For me, the idea of sitting in an area with only my thoughts to keep me company isn’t that bad of a prospect. Come on… there are so many cool things to think about or new people to meet. I can spend hours just people watching and making new friends. But for my kids, downtime is not something they look forward to. Whether it’s sitting in an airport, waiting on transportation, or just chilling in our room before the next adventure, they require something to keep their hands and minds busy.
But who wants to take an arsenal of toys and junk on vacation!?! I mean… don’t we go on vacation to leave all the junk behind and have NEW experiences. YES! But, a few well planned items can be the difference between 15 minutes of independent play and 15 minutes of time out because “I TOLD YOU TO STOP PINCHING EACH OTHER!” Side note: Parenting is hard.
Travel toys don’t have to be a bummer
So here are a few of my favorites. The things that keep us sane. The toys that bring value. The items that don’t take up too much precious space. I hope they make your future trips a little more peaceful.
