Have you ever made something that was just delicious and you could not believe you went your whole life without knowing how easy it was to make this goody for yourself? That is how I feel about homemade Tortilla chips. They are light, crispy, and deceptively simple to make. This is so easy I have time to make these in the mornings for school lunches. The best part to me though is that they have to be better for you than bagged chips. Not only are these baked but also because they are fresh there is no rancid oil after taste like you can have with bagged chips. So get out your best baking sheet and step to it. You are in for a culinary treat that will make the worst cook feel like a chef. These chips have a crunch and a chew to them. They are packed with flavor and your friends will think you are a genius.
6 round corn tortillas
A few spritz of oil spray
Set oven to 350’. Cut your tortilla rounds into 4ths or 6ths. Lay them out on a baking sheet. Spray them with olive oil spray. Any oil spray will likely do, and if you don’t have spray just wipe them with some oil. Shove that pan in the oven and bake them till they are starting to brown. Now this is where I may confuse you. Every oven cooks differently so pay attention so they do not burn. I do not wait for my oven to preheat, I just put them in. It takes 7 minutes for my oven to preheat and these are usually done in 13 minutes from when I put them in. Technically they could be done in a preheated oven for as little as 6 minutes. Just keep an eye out for when the edges start to brown.
So what are you waiting for? Go get some tortilla rounds and get to bakin!
